About Beacon of H.O.P.E

Life's Journey and Recovery

 We are a peer run organization. We connect individuals who experience mental health issues and substance issues with support and resources they need to build healthy relationships in their community and to live a higher quality of life. 

What is Peer Support?


Peer Support involves professionals who provides guidance, emotional and social support to individuals. Helping them navigate barriers and connecting them with resources. Helping them set goals and achieve long term recovery. Providing hope.

MEET OUR TEAM!

Meet Wynn

Family is important. She loves to take camping trips and sit by the campfires with her friends and family. 

She loves to travel. Seeing and learning about new places. Connecting with other people! 

She loves to go horseback riding.

She has struggled with substance abuse and has been in recovery for 16 years. 

She has lost loved ones from suicide and overdose, so she knows how it affects people. 

Her passion is helping other people. 

Her message is to Never Lose Hope. You Are Not Alone!  

 

Meet Joseph

Joesph is funny! He loves all seasons. He loves to ski in the Colorado Rookies. He loves animals. He likes all sports. He likes anything competitive. 

He loves to play cards and chess. He runs the chess club. 

His message to others is to treat others how you wish to be treated and always be kind. 

The comeback is better than the setback.

Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth is a young boys mom! She loves her family! She loves family trips to the lake to play in the water! 

She loves to cook. She grew up in a broken home, so she knows the struggle of growing up without having both parents. 

She also understands the challenges that teens face.  

Her message to others is to be true to yourself and believe in yourself.  You are stronger than you know!

    What is a Peer Support Specialist?

    A Peer Support Specialist is someone with lived experience with either a mental health or substance use issues and is trained to provide support to others in similar situations. 

    A peer specialist demonstrates that recovery is possible!

    A peer specialist gives encouragement, shares resources, and building skills, building community partnerships, mentors, helps setting goals, lead recovery groups, advocates for people in recovery.

    At Beacon of H.O.P.E (Hope, Outreach, Prevention, Education), our mission is to create a community where wellness from mental health and substance issues are top priority, and individuals can access resources and support they need. We are committed to helping those who experience mental health or substance issues live a happy and healthy life. That being safe, having compassion hope, love, respect, support and trust can make a difference. We believe that advocating for oneself empowers and inspires you. Lets your voice be heard. Empowers individuals to find solutions to problems.  We believe that developing strong relationships strengthens supports in your communities. We believe that ending stigma will make for a better, healthy and happier life!

We offer safe space for support groups, one on ones, educate individuals with skills to succeed, empower oneself and build healthy relationships to people and organizations in our community. We believe that individuals should be treated with dignity.

    We believe that prevention decreases risk factors and strengthens protective factors.

    We believe in second chances. Mistakes do not define who you are. Believe in yourself.  Do not give up. Do Not Lose Hope. You are Not Alone!

    About Our Groups

    We offer a variety of programs to help our peers participants get back on their feet and get the support they need. Offering support groups to talking to peers participants one on one, we provide the resources and support necessary to help individuals achieve their goals.


    Our Support Groups 



    Grief 

    SMART Recovery- Science based addiction support group. Where we learn self-empowerment skills and support one another. 


    Women's Support 


     PAL (Parents of Addicted Loved Ones) --We cover topics including the Addiction Cycle, Delayed Emotional Growth, Enabling Behaviors, Recovery Steps, Recognizing Relapse, Setting Boundaries, and more! 


    Circle of Parents- Connect struggling parents to share tips and resources, focusing on the protective factors and parental resilience.


    Chess


    Relationships in Recovery- Repairing and Rebuilding healthy connections while overcoming addictions.


    Art Therapy Journaling & Poetry for Healing


    DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)-Teaches coping skills to help manage emotions and navigate challenging situations more effectively. 


    Mental Wellness- Supporting anyone who is struggling with their mental health or may be experiencing difficult times.


    Support in the System- Supporting anyone on probation, anyone who has open cases, anyone coming out of prison.
